Backgammon is a board game and a mixture of strategy and gambling, it belongs to the tables games, one of the oldest board game families in the world. The player who is the first to remove all his own stones from the playing field wins. The ancient Greeks traced the invention of the dice board game back to Palamedes, which is said to have helped the soldiers camped in front of Troy to pass the time. Thus, the myth places the origin of the game in the time of the Trojan War, i.e. in the 12th century BC.
Long before that, board games or dice board games were already known in the Orient. In "Shahr-e Suchte", an archaeological place in the Iranian province of Sistan and Balochistan, a more than 5000-year-old game board was found, in the 1920s the British archaeologist Sir Leonard Woolley discovered a younger game board (Royal Game of Your) in the city of Ur.
Chess
Chess (from Persian شاه šāh, 'Shah, King' – hence the term "the royal game") or chess game is a strategic board game in which two players alternately move pieces (the chess pieces) on a game board (the chessboard). The aim of the game is to checkmate the opponent, i.e. to attack his king in such a way that he is neither able to defend nor escape.
